KNIFE MAKING COURSES
This is a new venture that I have decided to do for all you budding knife-makers. There is so much interest in making knives and I've been asked many times if I teach.
These courses will be quite comprehensive, to incorporate all stages of making a knife starting with cutting out the blank to polishing the finished article.
I am offering 3 courses. Course 1 will be a 3 day course for the making of a hunting knife. Course 2 is a 4 day course for the making of a bowie. Course 3 is a 1 day course for making a hand-stitched leather sheath. If you're a natural, and you pick it up quickly we may be able to incorporate the sheath making course into courses 1 or 2.
A talk will be given before a course commences to cover the safety aspects of the workshop. It can be a dangerous place if you haven't got your wits about you. Concentration is a must at all times.
I advise anyone taking the course to bring along old clothes or overalls and a pair of safety boots / shoes. Safety glasses and dust masks should be worn and will be provided.
We will enclose directions and a list of hotels, B&B's and camp sites, whatever takes your fancy for somewhere to stay during your time in Devon.
